The synthetic cork with sandpaper (grain 100, aluminum oxide) is used for rubbing and smoothing out grip wax. The sandpaper is attached with Velcro for replacement. Use only in the grip zone before applying grip wax or klister to keep the wax on the ski base for longer. Useful for recreational skiers as well as racers!
